Government has issued a package of economic policy IX. The focus is accelerating the development of electricity infrastructure, stabilizing the supply and prices of beef and the development of the village to the global logistics.
The Minister of Coordinating for Economic Affairs (Menteri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian), Darmin Nasution said the government will issue a Presidential Decree to accelerate the development of electricity infrastructure. In addition to meet the electricity needs of the people, the construction of this infrastructure will promote economic growth while improving the electrification ratio.
“Until 2015, the installed power capacity in Indonesia reached 53 GW reached 220 TWH of energy sold. Electrification ratio is currently 87.5%. To achieve electrification ratio up to 97.2% in 2019, required the development of electricity infrastructure growth around 8.8% per year. This is based on the projected economic growth of 6% per year, assuming elasticity of 1.2, ” Nasution said.
To pursue these targets, policies are needed to accelerate infrastructure development in the form of assignment of electricity to PT PLN (Persero). With the existence of this regulation, PT PLN will have a strong legal basis to accelerate the development of electricity infrastructure.
The Government will support various measures such as ensuring the provision of PLN primary energy, financing needs in the form of the PMN etc. Also the facilities development of Renewable Energy (EBT), simplification of licensing through PTSP, the spatial resolution of conflicts, provision of land and settlement of legal issues, as well as the creation of a separate business entities who are partners in the supply of electricity PLN.
