The Acting Regent of Banjar Regency H Rachmadi Kurdi led tree’s planting in
Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Banjar Regency Office and the
Department of Forestry (DISHUT) of Banjar Regency Office, Friday (22/1). Both
offices are located in the Indrasari village, sub-district of Martapura Kota,
Banjar Regency. These offices are new building and rarely overgrown with trees and
plants.
Before planting the trees, the Acting Regent of Banjar Regency who accompanied by
the Secretary of Banjar Regency H.Nasrunsyah give a brief exposured to the entire
staff of BPBDs Banjar Regency.
H. Rachmadi Kurdi said that the preservation of the environment is the
responsibility of all parties and should always be considered. “This activity is
expected in order to encourage active participation of all parties in achieving
environmentally sound perspective and the creation of a healthy environment and
sustainable”, he said.
He reminded all staff of BPBDs to always be alert to anticipate the flood disaster
that may later be happening around the district of Banjar. This is because the
rainfall began to look higher.
“Entering the rainy season in this year required vigilance and preparedness in
anticipate possibility of the flood disaster, and always remind residents in
disaster-prone areas to prepare themselves in order to avoid the adverse effects
of the disaster,” said H. Rachmadi Kurdi.
At the end of his explanation, the Acting Regent of Banjar Regency said that the
tree planting activity is expected to reduce the risk of flooding because the
roots of the tree, can absorb rainwater and prevent erosion. (hevrin/boma).
